Jakarta:Gelora Bung Karno: National winger Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim has encouraged the Malaysian football team to transform the pressure from Indonesian supporters into motivation when they face Indonesia's Garuda squad in their upcoming Group A Division 1 match of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Faisal advised his teammates to focus on their performance on the pitch rather than be distracted by any provocations or pressure from the home crowd. He emphasized the importance of being physically and mentally prepared for the match.

Faisal expressed confidence in Malaysia's ability to achieve a positive result against Indonesia, acknowledging the challenge posed by their opponents. He noted that despite Indonesia's organized play in their recent victory over Singapore, Malaysia possesses its own strengths and quality that could lead to a strong challenge.

Interim head coach Tan Cheng Hoe echoed Faisal's sentiments, urging the players to use the vibrant atmosphere at Gelora Bung Karno as a source of motivation. He highlighted mental strength as a crucial factor in maintaining concentration during the match, despite any potential provocations.

Malaysia enters the match with three points, following a 3-0 win over Bangladesh, while Indonesia also holds three points after defeating Singapore 2-0. Malaysia is set to play against Singapore at Stadium Si Jalak Harupat in their final group match next Thursday.
