Kuala Lumpur:Selangor Red Giants (SRG) have secured their sixth consecutive championship in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MPL) Professional League Malaysia, defeating Team Rey (TR) 4-3 in an exhilarating final held at Stadium Juara in Bukit Kiara.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the final match was a nail-biting contest that extended to the seventh game. SRG managed to outlast TR to retain their championship title. Under the leadership of Michael Angelo Bocado, also known as Arcadia, SRG started strong by winning the first game. However, TR quickly responded by dominating the second game, leveling the score at 1-1.

The competition remained fierce as SRG took the third game, only for TR to equalize again in the fourth. The teams continued to exchange victories with SRG winning the fifth game, and TR forcing a decider by taking the sixth. Ultimately, SRG's dominance in the final game clinched their 4-3 victory.

Arcadia expressed satisfaction with the intense competition, acknowledging TR's commendable performance. "I'm very happy because Team Rey really stepped up their game. We enjoyed the entire series as they kept fighting back in every game, making it a really exciting experience for us," he remarked post-match.

Both SRG and TR have earned qualification for the M8 World Championship, scheduled to be held in Istanbul, Turkiye, next year, following their successful journey to the MPL Malaysia final.
