Kuala lumpur: The issuance of the new version of the Malaysian International Passport (PMA), initially scheduled for June 1, has been postponed to an unspecified date, as announced by Immigration Director-General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban. This decision aims to ensure that services are delivered smoothly and that public experience remains optimal.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban emphasized that the public can continue to renew their passports as usual, and currently valid passports will remain usable until their expiration. He mentioned that any further updates regarding the new PMA's rollout will be communicated through official Malaysian Immigration Department channels.
Zakaria expressed gratitude for the ongoing support and cooperation from the public. He reiterated the department's commitment to enhancing the security of Malaysia's travel documents and delivering top-notch service to citizens. Previously, it was reported that the new PMA would feature 94 security enhancements, aiming to bolster the security of the nation's identification documents.
