Kuala lumpur: The Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, today granted an audience to army chief General Tan Sri Azhan Md Othman at a ceremony held at the Balai Menghadap Biru, Istana Arau.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, accompanying His Royal Highness was the Raja Muda of Perlis, Brigadier General Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who also commands the 504th Territorial Army Regiment stationed at Kem Bukit Keteri near Padang Besar.

Istana Arau stated that the audience aimed to further strengthen the ties between the Perlis Royal Institution and the army, acknowledging the army's role in safeguarding national sovereignty and security.

The event also served as a platform for enhancing strategic cooperation and fostering closer relations between the army leadership and the Perlis state leadership, focusing on security, public welfare, and national development.

The palace emphasized that the meeting highlighted the shared commitment to maintaining the nation's peace, stability, and prosperity through collaboration between the defence and royal institutions.
