Penang:The police are set to summon former Negeri Sembilan state executive council (Exco) members starting tomorrow to record their statements. This action is part of an ongoing investigation into the administrative and royal institution crisis in the state, following several lodged police reports.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail stated that police would also take statements from witnesses and other relevant individuals to complete the investigation. Numerous police reports have been filed, prompting this comprehensive inquiry.

The police have already summoned several individuals to provide statements, including potential witnesses. These efforts are part of the broader investigation into the crisis, which is being examined from multiple perspectives following the reports.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail emphasized that the police are focused on preventing violence and ensuring public order. Inspector-General Mohd Khalid further mentioned that the investigation papers are being finalized and will be submitted to the Attorney General's Chambers for further action.

Legal provisions, including the Sedition Act, are being considered as part of the investigation, although no definitive decisions have been made. The Attorney General's Chambers will ultimately decide on any potential prosecutions.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Mohd Khalid assured that the security and public order situation in Negeri Sembilan remains stable and under control, with the community cooperating well with authorities.
