Police Destroy Suspicious Box In Sri Petaling

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) from the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters, the Bukit Aman Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit, and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency were sent to the scene for further checks. "The BDU subsequently deployed a Recoilless Disruptor 5.0 device to render the box safe," he said in a statement today.

Fadil said checks found several smaller boxes inside containing toy building blocks. The Department of Atomic Energy later confirmed there was no radioactive contamination at the scene. Police are investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, and the investigation is ongoing.
