Kuala lumpur: Eleven areas nationwide recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 11 am today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, three areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy readings: Sri Aman and Serian both at 174, and Kuching at 135. Meanwhile, eight areas in Peninsular Malaysia also recorded unhealthy API readings, with the highest recorded at Johan Setia, Selangor at 158. This was followed by Cheras in Kuala Lumpur at 153, Nilai and Seremban at 152 and 147 respectively, Pasir Gudang and Larkin in Johor at 145 and 136, Putrajaya at 134, and Alor Gajah in Melaka at 115.

Overall, 55 areas recorded moderate API readings, while two areas recorded good readings. An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above hazardous.
