Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended financial aid to elderly woman Mazanah Hashim, who is caring for her disabled grandson in Permatang Pasir, Permatang Pauh, Penang. The cash donation was handed over to the woman by the Prime Minister’s Political Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farzan Fauzi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Farzan stated, “The burden she carries is very heavy, and I am here not only to offer comfort but also to help lift her out of hardcore poverty,” in a post on his Facebook. He emphasized the government’s commitment to support Mazanah through collaborative efforts with Zakat Pulau Pinang and the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

Further aid is planned to be provided to ensure Mazanah’s family emerges from hardcore poverty immediately. Ahmad Farzan expressed hope that this assistance will enable Mazanah and her family to live a better life and secure their future while easing their daily challenges.
