PM Anwar Engages with Free Helmet Recipients at Sepang International Circuit

Sepang:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim took time to engage with recipients of free helmets during the 2026 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed his delight in interacting with the recipients of the helmets, an initiative by the Ministry of Transport through the Road Transport Department (JPJ). He advised the recipients to ensure the helmets are worn correctly and securely strapped, emphasizing the importance of safety with his message, "Leave home safely, return safely. A new helmet, a new spirit!"

As part of Budget 2026, Anwar announced that 70,000 helmets have been allocated for distribution to the public. This effort aims to protect motorcycle riders and decrease the risk of serious injuries. The JPJ's free helmet exchange initiative is focused on enhancing rider safety by replacing old or non-standard helmets with new ones to reduce accident-related injuries.
