Kuala Lampur:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of not taking unauthorized land encroachment lightly, as it could impact national planning and public interest.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted the necessity of upholding good governance practices and strengthening enforcement. He urged for prompt attention to be given to issues raised by stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations, to ensure the dissemination of accurate and transparent information.
In a Facebook post, Anwar mentioned making these points during the 83rd National Land Council meeting, stressing that land governance should not solely focus on economic returns or physical development due to the effects of climate change. Instead, land management must be conducted prudently and systematically to mitigate risks to environmental sustainability.
Anwar reiterated that the MADANI Government is committed to ensuring responsible land management initiatives for the benefit of the people.
