Tashkent:Perlis Perlis and Uzbekistan's Tashkent Region are poised to enhance cooperation in tourism and agriculture by leveraging their respective attractions and economic resources.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tashkent Region Governor Zoyir Mirzayev emphasized the importance of the existing strong ties with the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, and the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, as a foundation for expanding collaboration.
Both regions have started exploring the potential for kenaf cultivation in agriculture, with discussions already indicating positive progress towards identifying areas for strategic development. Additionally, they aim to bolster tourism by capitalizing on each other's strengths and experiences to foster new cooperation opportunities.
Governor Mirzayev highlighted these initiatives during a dinner at Amirsoy Mountain Resort, which was attended by the Raja Muda of Perlis and the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, before their departure for home.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both parties to reinforce existing ties and explore new avenues for tourism and agricultural development, thereby broadening the relationship between Perlis and Uzbekistan.
Governor Mirzayev's previous visit to Perlis in April of last year involved a meeting with Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and participation in various local initiatives, leading to the selection of Perlis as Tashkent Region's main collaboration partner in Malaysia.
