Pahang: Pahang police will dispose of 2,485 items of drug-related evidence worth more than RM433,000 at Bukit Tagar, Selangor tomorrow. Pahang acting police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob announced that the items, seized between 2009 and 2025, would be disposed of by an authorised contractor at about noon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the evidence comprises 14 types of drugs, including methamphetamine weighing 6.27 kilogrammes, heroin (1.09 kg), cannabis (610.95 grammes), ketamine (2.95 grammes), nimetazepam (60.69 grammes), yaba (128.11 grammes), ecstasy (1.01 grammes), etizolam (1.58 grammes), and promethazine (350 grammes). The disposal will also include 1,960.33 litres of ketum juice, 19,771.30 grammes of ketum leaves, 93.11 litres of codeine, 612.50 litres of diphenhydramine, and other prohibited substances that have obtained disposal orders from the court.

Azry Akmar highlighted that the evidence could only be disposed of after court proceedings were fully completed and the appeal period for the sentences imposed on offenders had ended. Meanwhile, he reported that the Pahang Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) recorded 7,181 drug cases involving 8,276 arrests from January to July this year. During the same period, the department conducted 198 operations statewide to curb drug trafficking and abuse.

He attributed these achievements to cooperation from the public and the continuous commitment of police officers and personnel in strengthening enforcement efforts.
