Over 3,600 Public Complaints Received Through WRUR In Melaka

Melaka: A total of 3,664 public complaints involving various issues were received through the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme across 15 state constituencies in Melaka. Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said 2,474 complaints had been resolved, while the remaining cases were being addressed by the relevant agencies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the achievement reflected the effectiveness of the WRUR programme in focusing on action and resolving issues faced by the people. Ab Rauf emphasized the importance of immediate action by elected representatives, departments, and related agencies on every complaint received, underscoring the need not to underestimate public grievances or wait for issues to escalate before taking action.

He highlighted the WRUR programme's role in not only hearing people's voices but also using them as a guide in shaping government policies, actions, and decisions. Ab Rauf mentioned that the WRUR programme, now in its 16th series, has been consistently implemented since last year, regardless of election seasons, to ensure the continuous safeguarding of public welfare and needs.

The series for the Kota Melaka parliamentary constituency began in the Kota Laksamana state constituency from May 17 to 23, proceeded in Banda Hilir from May 31 to June 6, Kesidang from June 7 to 13, and concluded in Telok Mas from June 14 to 20.
