Amir Hamzah To Seek Audience With Pahang Sultan This Week To Clarify Federal Allocation Issues

Kuala lumpur: Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan will seek an audience with the Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah in the near future to clarify issues regarding the Federal Government's allocation to the state of Pahang.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan stated that the Federal Government is committed to ensuring that every allocation to the state is made based on needs and the Federal Constitution. He emphasized the importance of clarifying the allocations to ensure all parties understand what has been provided to Pahang. "I will seek an audience with the Sultan of Pahang, God willing, this week to clarify a little and this is to ensure that all parties understand what we have given and the allocations provided," Amir Hamzah told reporters after attending a ceremony at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tan Sri Awang Had Salleh.

He further explained that the government consistently aims to increase allocations to Pahang, particularly for development spending based on current priorities. This follows inquiries raised on May 8 by the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, during the Opening Ceremony of the First Meeting of the Fifth Term of the 15th Pahang State Legislative Assembly, where he questioned the allocations to the state.

In response, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim indicated that he would instruct Amir Hamzah to provide a comprehensive explanation concerning the Federal Government's allocations to Pahang, which would be submitted to the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang.
