Sabah: The number of flood victims in Sabah and Sarawak continues to drop, with only 464 people still taking shelter at eight temporary relief centres in both states tonight.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the State Disaster Management Committee in Sabah reported that with improving flood conditions, the number of flood victims had decreased to 206 individuals from 55 families as of 8 pm. This is a significant reduction from the 476 people from 144 families reported earlier in the afternoon.
In Sabah, 33 people from 10 families remain housed at one relief centre in Beaufort, while 173 individuals from 45 families are seeking shelter at two centres in Kinabatangan. Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the number of flood victims has dropped to 262 as of tonight. These evacuees are still sheltering at five relief centres, a decrease from the 421 reported in the afternoon.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee secretariat informed that the number of victims in Mukah Division had decreased to 49 in two relief centres, compared to 208 previously. In the Miri and Sibu divisions, the numbers remain unchanged with 210 people in two relief centres and another three individuals in one centre, respectively.
