The RM43.89 million project will be undertaken by Eastbourne Corporation Bhd, with construction expected to last 217 weeks and conclude in April 2029.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the project will involve demolishing the existing dilapidated structures and constructing a new 18-classroom academic block, an administration block, a preschool block, a canteen, and other facilities. Additionally, three existing blocks will be upgraded to ensure a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment for 43 teachers, five staff members, and 520 students.

Nanta further explained that under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12), the Public Works Department (JKR) is tasked with executing 92 Education Ministry projects in Sabah and 36 in Sarawak. He emphasized the importance of completing the project on time and adhering to cost and quality standards, urging contractors to prioritize safety and meet the government’s specifications.

The minister also highlighted that JKR is responsible for monitoring work quality and evaluating the contractor’s performance to ensure the project benefits the local community.
