Negeri sembilan: Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun announced a significant reduction in the number of drug addicts in the state, reporting a decline from 6,500 individuals last year to 5,600 currently.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this reduction of 900 cases places Negeri Sembilan as the state with the second-lowest number of drug addicts in the country. Aminuddin credited the success to the implementation of integrated strategies involving the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), local communities, and leadership.
Aminuddin highlighted the transformation of many high-risk ‘red’ areas to ‘green’, and ‘green’ areas to ‘yellow’, attributing this shift to the ongoing intervention efforts by all parties involved. He shared these insights during a media conference after the state executive council meeting held at Wisma Negeri.
In a related development, Aminuddin announced plans for upgrading the facilities at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi. The improvements, set to commence soon, aim to enhance visitor comfort by ensuring that amenities such as seats, toilets, and prayer rooms are in proper condition.
