Kuala Lampur:Negeri Sembilan: Negeri Sembilan State Secretary Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim and State Legal Adviser Datuk Muzalmah Mustapha Kamal continue to perform their duties despite a decision by the State Executive Council to suspend them.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, both officials are acting in line with directions from Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC). Mohd Zafir stated he has not received any official suspension notice aside from a media statement by the Menteri Besar and is complying with directives to continue his duties.

Muzalmah confirmed she is reporting for duty as usual at her office, following the Attorney-General's directive to continue working and has not received any suspension notice. She emphasized her commitment to carrying out her responsibilities as long as instructed by the AGC.

The State Executive Council had decided to suspend the two officials, with Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim announcing interim arrangements for their positions. Datuk Masri Razali is to assume the duties of the state secretary, and Fahmi Adilah is to take on the role of state legal adviser until new appointments are made.

However, the AGC clarified that the State Executive Council lacks the legal authority to suspend these officials, as such matters fall under the jurisdiction of the Public Service Commission and the Judicial and Legal Service Commission, as defined by the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution 1959.
