NADI Centres in Terengganu to Receive Enhanced Support for Community Benefit

Kuala terengganu: All National Information Dissemination (NADI) centres in Terengganu are set to receive enhanced support to ensure their benefits reach all communities, according to Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this initiative is being reinforced through the appointment of eight NADI advisory panel chairmen in the state, who received their letters of appointment. Fahmi highlighted that Terengganu currently has 72 NADI centres operating across all parliamentary and state constituencies, functioning as hubs for information dissemination and community digital empowerment.

The minister noted that the appointment of these advisory panels follows similar implementations in other states. So far, 106 advisory panel chairmen have been appointed in states including Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah, and now Terengganu.

Fahmi expressed hope that these appointments would ensure all 72 centres are utilized not only by nearby communities but also extended to underserved areas. He emphasized that while communities within a two to three kilometre radius typically benefit the most, the intention is for NADI services to reach less-served areas. This effort is crucial in raising public awareness, particularly about the dangers of online scams through safe internet campaigns.

He also advised parents to monitor internet usage among children under 16 to protect them from inappropriate content. Additionally, Fahmi urged NADI management to collaborate closely with the Information Department to deliver accurate and easy-to-understand information to the public, stressing that information must be conveyed in a simple and accessible manner at any time.
