Pensiangan: The MyLesen B2 programme has made its return to Pensiangan, Sabah, with the goal of assisting rural residents in obtaining valid motorcycle riding licences and promoting safer road use within these communities.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pensiangan Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup emphasized that the initiative is designed to help rural inhabitants, particularly youths, acquire motorcycle licences without the need to travel extensive distances to reach driving schools in urban areas. Participants will still be required to complete the necessary courses and pass prescribed tests to qualify for the licence, while also improving their understanding of road traffic laws.
"This is important to ensure the safety of all road users and reduce road accidents. We will assist you throughout the process until you successfully obtain your licence," Arthur stated in a Facebook post today. The programme is available to residents aged between 16 and 63, especially targeting those who have never held a driving licence before.
Arthur, who also serves as the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister, noted that having a valid licence would enable participants to travel legally, potentially opening up greater employment and economic opportunities, particularly for young men and women. He highlighted that the licence could be transformative for recipients, as it would remain valid for lifelong use, provided they comply with existing licensing regulations.
For those interested in enrolling, registration forms can be obtained at the Pensiangan Parliamentary Service Centre and the Sook State Assemblyman's Service Centre.
