MyFutureJobs Booth Attracts Attention at 2026 National Workers’ Day Carnival

Unifi arena: The MyFutureJobs booth was among the key highlights for visitors at the 2026 National Workers' Day Carnival at Unifi Arena here, offering live career guidance and free resume review services.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) Employment Services Officer, Farah Mohd Khairudzaman, stated that the initiative aims to strengthen the readiness of the local workforce, particularly to help those affected by retrenchments and assist fresh graduates in enhancing their employability. Farah explained that the booth provides resume review sessions to identify shortcomings that prevent applicants from receiving feedback from employers. The service helps applicants incorporate the right 'keywords' or skills to attract prospective employers.

Farah added that the career guidance is designed to address job seekers' concerns about the issue of 'mismatch' in fields of study, as many candidates hesitate to apply for positions if their educational background does not align with the job scope offered. Besides advisory services, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the 'MyFutureJobs Galaxy' feature on the MyFutureJobs portal, which allows job seekers to identify specific skills required by the industry for particular positions. Farah emphasized the importance of enhancing skills to remain competitive in the job market.

Commenting on current trends, Farah revealed that the administration, wholesale, and manufacturing sectors are among the industries most actively offering job opportunities in Malaysia. Based on Job Market Snapshot statistics shared by Farah, as of last February, there were approximately 90,000 job vacancies offered by 24,000 companies, with accountant positions being among those in high demand.

Farah emphasized that MyFutureJobs is a trusted national job portal under the Ministry of Human Resources, dedicated to Malaysians. She assured that employers registered on the portal are legitimate and free from fraud or scams, and the portal also provides opportunities for industrial training placements.

A participant who received career guidance at the MyFutureJobs booth, Nor Irmazatul Irwan Soriman, 34, shared that the guidance provided successfully dispelled her concerns about the risks of changing career fields. She expressed relief after receiving explanations that it is possible to switch fields without starting from the bottom, as her current scope of work still relates to the field she aims to enter.

Nor Irmazatul also highlighted the importance of updating resumes according to the latest standard formats to ensure job applicants are not left behind during the initial screening process. She realized that her outdated resume format was the reason her applications to big companies often did not lead to interviews.

The 2026 National Workers' Day Carnival runs until Sunday, involving over 50 exhibitors from various ministries, departments, government agencies, and industries, providing direct services to the public, including job vacancy offers and direct interview sessions with employers.
