SHAH ALAM: Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin admitted that the non-Malay community is still hesitant in supporting the party. He said in a series of by-elections and the state by-election recently, Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional’s support largely came from Malay and Bumiputera voters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhyiddin acknowledged that while there is non-Malay support, it needs to be significantly increased. He emphasized that as a party committed to the spirit of new nationalism for Malaysia, Bersatu cannot rely solely on the support of Malays and Bumiputeras to form a government.

Muhyiddin made these remarks during his policy speech at the seventh Bersatu annual general assembly held at the Ideal Shah Alam Convention Centre (IDCC). The event was attended by key party figures, including Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, vice-presidents Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee, and Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, along with secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed
Azmin Ali.

Additionally, Muhyiddin addressed rumors of factionalism within Bersatu, dismissing claims of the existence of particular groups or camps of leaders. He urged party members not to engage in activities that might weaken or divide the party, stating that he would not tolerate any such behavior.
