Muallim: A total of 24,578 units of various categories of case items, worth RM55,635, for the period 2018 to 2025 were disposed of in a ceremony at the Muallim district police headquarters (IPD) here today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muallim district police chief Supt Khalid Mohamad stated that the total involved 61 investigation papers, with 30 from the Criminal Investigation Division, 16 from the Commercial Crime Investigation Division, and 15 from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division. He highlighted that 23,476 units of evidence were from the commercial crime investigation department, 1,081 units from the criminal investigation department, and 21 units from the traffic enforcement investigation department.
Khalid explained that the items disposed of included cigarettes, alcohol, gambling devices, bitcoin, contraband, and general goods. The disposal was conducted in compliance with Section 407(2) of the Criminal Procedure Code (Act 593), along with court orders, current directives, and applicable financial and administrative regulations.
He emphasized that this process helps prevent the risk of loss, damage, or misuse of items that have completed their actions, and ensures that storage space is managed more effectively. Khalid further added that the disposal is not just about clearing storage space but is crucial for ensuring systematic, transparent, and integrity-driven management of case items in line with legal requirements.
