Body of 14-Year-Old Boy Found After Four Days Missing

Kuala krai: The body of 14-year-old Mohd Rayyan Hakimi Mohd Yusmiza, who was feared drowned in the Kelantan River near Kampung Aur Duri, Kuala Krai, was found today after a four-day search and rescue (SAR) operation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa said the victim's body was discovered at about 1 pm near Sungai Kemubu in Kampung Bandar, Pulai Chondong, approximately 50 kilometers from the location where he was reported to have fallen into the river.

The fourth day of the SAR operation began at 8 am today, involving 20 boats and personnel from the Auxiliary Squad, Civil Defence Force (APM), Fire and Rescue Department, and police. Due to the distance from the discovery site, the victim's identity was confirmed at 2.50 pm before the body was handed over to police, he said when contacted today.

Meanwhile, the victim's father, Mohd Yusmiza Mamat, 42, expressed that the family was grateful that his second child had finally been found and accepted the loss as fate. "My son's remains will be buried at the Kampung Aur Duri Cemetery as his mother, Norhasmiza Kamarudin, is from this village," he said.

Mohd Rayyan Hakimi and his friend, Luth Naiman Mohd Noraziron, 14, were feared drowned while bathing in the river at 6.39 pm last Tuesday. Luth Naiman's body was found by the Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) at 9.10 am yesterday, about 100 meters from where they were believed to have drowned.
