Sepang: Young Malaysian rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli’s aspiration to start on the front row of the 2025 Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix (GP) Moto3 class championship was not realized after he finished Qualifying Session 2 (Q2) in 14th place at the Sepang International Circuit today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 18-year-old rider competed on a wildcard ticket for the Aeon Credit SIC Racing team, previously securing sixth position in Free Practice Session 2 (FP2) with a time of 2 minutes 10.576 seconds. However, in the qualifying session, he recorded a slower time of 2:11.487 seconds.

Meanwhile, the champion of the 2025 season, Jose Antonio Rueda of Red Bull KTM Ajo, finished in third place with a time of 2:10.076 seconds.
Muhammad Hakim Danish admitted to making a few mistakes and nearly crashing during the qualifying session, but he remains determined to perform his best in the upcoming race despite acknowledging the increased challenge compared to the JuniorGP and Red Bull Rookies Cup. He shared, “In the qualifying session earlier, I made a few mistakes and almost crashed, but I was able to handle it well. I am trying to improve my position and time. Tomorrow’s race will definitely be difficult, but I will still try,” he told reporters after the session.
Meanwhile, two national wildcard riders in the Moto2 class, Azroy Hakeem Anuar and Muhammad Helmi Azman from Petronas MIE Racing RW, will start the race in 29th and last place, respectively.
