Seremban: The Ministry of Transport (MOT) will improve KTM Komuter services, including reviewing and revising train schedules between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur to reduce waiting times and shorten journeys. Minister Anthony Loke announced these plans, emphasizing the need for smoother commutes for passengers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Loke stated that further discussions will take place after the Chinese New Year to finalize and implement these measures. The aim is to ensure a more comfortable and efficient commute for passengers traveling between Seremban and Kuala Lumpur.
Loke highlighted that current travel times from Seremban to Kuala Lumpur often experience delays. Many commuters report journeys taking one hour 45 minutes, and sometimes up to two hours. The slowdowns are attributed to ongoing track upgrades along the route, where some sections are reduced to a single track, affecting train flow and schedule reliability.
Minister Loke also addressed the ongoing upgrades to the Seremban Railway Station and the construction of the new station, acknowledging the inconvenience caused to passengers. He appealed for public understanding, noting that the new station is expected to take another year to complete and will provide greater comfort for commuters once finished.
In a separate update, Loke, who also serves as the Seremban MP, mentioned efforts to explore ways to accelerate the Klang Valley Double Track Electrification Phase 2 (KVDT2) project. The project is progressing on schedule, but presents challenges as work must be conducted on active tracks. Safety considerations restrict the time machinery can be on the tracks, naturally slowing construction.
