MOH Remains Proactive In Safeguarding Welfare of Malaysian Pilgrims In Holy Land

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Health (MOH) remains agile and proactive in translating the values of ihsan (compassion) MADANI to safeguard the welfare of Malaysian pilgrims despite challenges posed by extreme heat and new policy changes by Saudi Arabia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad stated that as of May 25, the MOH medical teams in the Holy Land had provided 28,435 outpatient treatments at three of its main clinic complexes. He highlighted that 278 cases are being closely monitored at the Transit Lounges in Makkah and Madinah, while 23 elderly pilgrims were assisted in completing their worship through the Safari Wukuf programme.

The Minister also expressed his sorrow over the passing of 10 Malaysian pilgrims in the Holy Land. He urged everyone to recite prayers for them and noted the emotional impact of the situation on the medical personnel serving there.

Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad shared his emotional connection with the MOH medical personnel stationed in the Holy Land, following a video conference with them. He remarked on the dedication and resilience shown by the medical teams as they continue to serve the dhuyufurrahman (guests of Allah) under extreme heat conditions, with temperatures reaching up to 48°C. The Minister emphasized that the medical staff are not only fulfilling their duties but are also actively fighting to ensure the welfare of the pilgrims.
