MIHAS@Dubai 2024 to Surpass RM1 Billion Export Sales Target, Says Deputy Prime Minister.

DUBAI: The 2024 Malaysia International Halal Showcase expo in Dubai (MIHAS@Dubai 2024) is poised to exceed its initial export sales target of RM1 billion, according to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. With a revised target of RM1.2 billion, the expo, which runs from November 18-20, has already achieved an impressive RM500 million in export sales on its first day, marking a significant milestone for Malaysia’s halal industry.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized that this Dubai edition is notably the first MIHAS expo held outside of Malaysia. This move underscores Malaysia’s dedication to globalizing its halal industry and solidifying its status as a leader in the ever-expanding halal economy. The expo has provided a platform for 215 Malaysian companies to demonstrate the excellence and variety of halal products and services.

Ahmad Zahid highlighted that MIHAS@Dubai 2024 opens new avenues for Malaysian businesses to enter the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) mark
ets, which encompass over 490 million consumers. This initiative is expected to foster meaningful partnerships and drive sustained growth for Malaysian enterprises in the region. He shared these insights during a press conference following the conclusion of his working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
