MIDA Gears Up For Flagship Programme To Strengthen Industrial and Supply Chain Ecosystem

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and the Department of Federal Territories, along with investment promotion agencies in the central region of Peninsular Malaysia, are preparing for their flagship Central Region Programme 2025. This initiative aims to enhance supply chain integration, strengthen regional linkages, and empower local industries in the central region, which includes the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, as well as the states of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme, themed ‘Innovating Industries, Connecting Markets’, is scheduled for November 11-12, 2025, at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur. It is expected to gather up to 1,000 senior representatives from leading industries, chambers of commerce, and government agencies to plan the next phase of regional industrial growth.

The programme aims to be a collaborative platform to encourage quality investments, drive innovation, and reinforce Malaysia’s status as a competitive and sustainable investment hub within ASEAN. MIDA’s chief executive officer, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, emphasized that the programme aligns with the agency’s commitment to advancing Malaysia’s industrial transformation through stronger regional ecosystems.

He noted that the central region is a critical hub for innovation, talent, and infrastructure, which drives sustainable investments consistent with the MADANI Economy Framework and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030. The event will commence with a high-level launch and a fireside chat focusing on the central region’s growth potential, especially in the four priority industries: electrical and electronics, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and food manufacturing.

The programme will include interactive sessions aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s supply chain ecosystem and advancing digital transformation. Additionally, activities such as the MCMC Business Clinic will enable companies to engage directly with mobile network operators to explore 5G solutions and smart industry applications.

The Central Region Programme 2025 invites industry players and business communities to explore new collaborations and gain insights into Malaysia’s evolving industrial landscape. MIDA highlighted that the central region, a highly dynamic corridor, contributes nearly half of Malaysia’s gross domestic product and anchors key industries, including electronics, automotive, logistics, and digital technology.
