Kuala lumpur: More than 1.45 million participants have joined the free modules offered on the Rakyat Digital Portal to-date, said Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo. He explained that this initiative is part of efforts to realize Malaysia’s aspiration to become an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Nation and a regional hub by 2030, with a key focus on comprehensive local talent development at all levels.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Rakyat Digital Portal is a free online self-learning platform designed to increase basic AI literacy. It offers modules such as AI for the People (AI Untuk Rakyat), Generative AI, AI Fluency, and other digital topics. Additionally, AI at Work 2.0, in collaboration with Google, has been introduced to equip 445,000 civil servants with generative AI tools to boost efficiency and productivity in public service.

Gobind Singh Deo made these remarks during a question-and-answer session at the Dewan Rakyat, responding to a query from Dr. Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen (PH-Bandar Kuching) regarding Malaysia’s plans to achieve its AI Nation aspiration by 2030.
