Aichi-Nagoya:Malaysian athletes delivered notable performances across several sports at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in the wushu competition, Clement Ting Su We secured a bronze medal in the men's daoshu and gunshu event with a score of 9.713 points. He finished behind China's Xiaobin Gao, who won gold with 9.796 points, and Singapore's Lim Si Wei, who claimed silver with 9.723 points. In the women's category, Pang Pui Yee narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in the jianshu and qiangshu final with 9.710 points. The gold went to China's Yao Yang with 9.773 points, Japan's Kida Nanoha took silver with 9.726, and Vietnam's Duong Thuy Vi earned bronze with 9.710.

In shooting, Nurul Syasya Nadiah Mohd Arifin placed 23rd in the qualifying round of the women's 10m air pistol event, scoring 569 points after 16 rounds. Joseph Lee Joon Kit also did not advance, finishing 13th in the men's individual skeet qualifying round with 116 points.

The rowing events saw Nurzarinah Zakaria unable to progress beyond the qualifying round, finishing fourth with a time of 8:02.00s. Iran's Fatemeh Mojallaltopraghghalef led the round with a time of 7:27.32s, followed by Hong Kong's Wing Hung Wing Yan Winne and Vietnam's Ho Thi Duy.

China's Zhang Zhanshuo set a new Asian record with a time of 1:43.49s to win gold, while Hwang Sunwoo of South Korea took silver, and Japan's Murasa Tatsuya earned bronze. Additionally, Bryan Leong was unable to reach the final in the men's 100m butterfly, finishing eighth in Heat 3 with a time of 56.77 seconds.
