Kuala lumpur: Malaysia is actively encouraging more investments from German Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), particularly in the areas of green technology, renewable energy, and water management. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof emphasized that these investments align with Malaysia's sustainable development goals.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadillah shared this during a recent meeting with the German Ambassador to Malaysia, Silke Riecken-Daerr, and a delegation from the German SME Business Association at Parliament House. He highlighted the significance of Germany as a key trading partner for Malaysia, especially in mechanical engineering and manufacturing technology sectors.
Fadillah noted that over 800 German companies are currently operating in Malaysia, showcasing the robust economic ties between the two nations. The meeting also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), leveraging Germany's acclaimed educational system to bolster Malaysia's workforce skills.
He expressed optimism about the potential for strengthening bilateral relations through strategic cooperation that serves the mutual interests of Malaysia and Germany.
