Thunderstorms Expected in Penang, Sarawak, and Sabah Until Noon – MetMalaysia

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning regarding thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in specific areas within the states of Penang, Sarawak, and Sabah. These weather conditions are expected to persist until 12 noon today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia released a statement at 9 am identifying the affected regions. In Penang, the Southwest and Northeast areas are expected to experience adverse weather conditions. Meanwhile, in Sarawak, Subis and Miri within the Miri division have been highlighted as areas of concern. In Sabah, residents of Tawau, Semporna, Kalabakan, and Kunak should also prepare for similar weather disruptions.

MetMalaysia's statement emphasized the likelihood of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in these regions until noon. However, in a separate communication, MetMalaysia assured the public that Tropical Storm Saudel, which is currently located approximately 1,473 kilometers north of Kudat, Sabah, is not anticipated to significantly impact Malaysia.
