MAHA Labuan Attracts Over 30,800 Visitors, Reaches RM800,000 in Sales Within Two Days

Labuan: The inaugural Road to MAHA Labuan 2026 has exceeded visitor expectations after attracting 30,837 visitors in its first two days, surpassing its initial target of 30,000 visitors.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Department of Federal Territories' (JWP) secretariat reported that the encouraging response also translated into strong sales, with transactions reaching almost RM800,000 within the first two days of the five-day event. This places organisers well on track to achieve the overall sales target of RM1.6 million.

The overwhelming turnout reflected growing public interest in agriculture, food security, and agro-based entrepreneurship, while reinforcing Labuan's role as a strategic venue for promoting the sector in this duty-free island.

"The response has been very encouraging . we have already exceeded our visitor target with 30,837 visitors in just two days, while sales have reached nearly RM800,000, almost half of our RM1.6 million target," the secretariat told Bernama today.

The Road to MAHA Labuan 2026 event is organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, JWP, and Labuan Corporation (LC) from July 23-26. A total of 184 agro-entrepreneurs are participating in the event, with 117 from Labuan, while the remaining participants are from Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, and Perak, showcasing a wide range of agricultural products, food items, livestock, and agro-based innovations.

Among the main attractions are livestock exhibitions featuring cattle and goats supplied by Sita Farm, which have drawn considerable interest from visitors.

According to JWP, the event is also generating a significant economic spillover effect, with an estimated 20 percent benefiting accommodation operators, transport providers, food vendors, and businesses within the local supply chain. The department said such multiplier effects demonstrate MAHA Labuan's contribution beyond direct sales, helping stimulate the local economy through increased visitor spending and business activities.

MAHA Labuan continues over the weekend with various exhibitions, sales, demonstrations, and agricultural-related activities aimed at promoting the agriculture sector while strengthening entrepreneurship and food security in the Federal Territory.
