KPKT Allocates RM183 Million for Development Projects in Pahang

Kuantan: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has allocated RM183 million this year for various development and upgrading projects in Pahang, said its minister Nga Kor Ming. This allocation aims to enhance infrastructure and public services across the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the allocation includes RM46.7 million for the Rumah Mesra Rakyat programme, which focuses on affordable housing. An additional RM37 million is set aside for local authority development projects, including the construction of the Temerloh Sentral bus terminal. Furthermore, RM32 million is allocated under the urban sustainability division for housing programmes and projects, signaling a commitment to sustainable urban development.

A total of RM21.1 million has been earmarked for the development and upgrading of Fire and Rescue Department infrastructure in several areas, including Kuantan, Bera, Lipis, Rompin, and Bentong. The ministry also plans to invest RM4 million in the New Village Division for development projects in new villages across Pahang, ensuring that these communities are not overlooked.

During the announcement at the KPKT Sentuhan Kasih 4.0 programme, held in conjunction with a visit to the Alor Akar Flats, Nga revealed additional allocations of RM1 million each for the rebuilding of the Cenderawasih Food Court in Indera Mahkota and the Balok Multipurpose Hall. These projects are seen as part of the MADANI government's focus on improving public infrastructure to enhance quality of life.

The minister emphasized KPKT's commitment to collaborating with local authorities to achieve inclusive and sustainable national development goals. This approach aims to strengthen public services and improve the overall wellbeing of the people in line with the government's priorities.
