KL Fire Dept Clinches National Fire Fighter Drill 2025 Title

Kuala lumpur: The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department has been crowned overall champion of the National Fire Fighter Drill 2025 (NFD 2025), held at the Eastern Region Fire and Rescue Academy in Terengganu from July 25 to 29.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 40-member Kuala Lumpur contingent took home four gold, four silver, and four bronze medals across 12 events, as stated by its director Senior Assistant Fire Commissioner Hassan ‘As’ari Omar.

Gold medals were achieved in the Toughest Bomba Alive Challenge, Duo Technical Rescue Challenge, Fire Ground Challenge, and the 100-metre Fire Obstacle Challenge. Silver medals were awarded in the Hose Rampage, Fire Fighters Challenge, Spider Trail, and a second medal in the Fire Ground Challenge. Bronze medals were secured in the Ultimate Bomba Warrior Challenge, Mighty FireFighter, Water Saviour, and an additional medal in the 100-metre Fire Obstacle Challenge.

Speaking to Bernama at a team celebration, Hassan ‘As’ari emphasized the importance of the competition in enhancing the physical, mental, and operational readiness of firefighters. ‘The experience gained from this event boosts confidence and sharpens our response capabilities in real-life emergencies,’ he said.
