Kulim:A Form One student sustained serious injuries after allegedly falling from the third floor of a school building in Kulim on Sunday. The Kedah Education Department is actively monitoring the situation and cooperating fully with police investigations.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the incident prompted immediate action from the school and the Kulim Bandar Baharu District Education Office. They contacted the student's family, filed a report with authorities, and provided psychosocial support to the affected student, his family, and schoolmates.
Preliminary police findings indicate that the student may have been experiencing academic pressure. The Kedah Education Department is aware of these findings and continues to assist the authorities with their ongoing investigations.
The department emphasized the importance of addressing students' emotional and mental health and urged both parents and educators to be vigilant about changes in children's emotional states, seeking help when needed.
The student was discovered at approximately 3:30 p.m., lying near the staircase of the school's Block E. He was promptly taken to Kulim Hospital with severe injuries, including brain bleeding and fractures to his face and legs. The department will persist in providing necessary support and monitoring the situation while expressing hopes for the student's recovery.
