Johor bahru: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged young voters to reject race-based politics and leverage the upcoming Johor state election to elect leaders committed to securing their future. Anwar, who also serves as Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, emphasized the importance of choosing leaders who address crucial issues like education, job opportunities, and state development rather than succumbing to racial sentiments.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar criticized those who incite racial divisions, stating that such tactics only serve the interests of those in power while the public remains divided. He encouraged young Malays, Chinese, and Indian voters to take charge of their future and avoid being misled by outdated political systems. Anwar made these remarks at the launch of the Bukit Naning state constituency volunteer program, attended by PH candidates Nazri Abd Rahman and Md Ysahrudin Kusni.
The Prime Minister expressed his admiration for the substantial participation of young people in the event, highlighting their determination for change. He called on them to spread the message of potential change across villages and districts and to capitalize on the opportunity presented by the election.
