Kuala lumpur: Johor Motorsports Racing (JMR) has forged a new partnership with leading model manufacturer, Trends Hobby for the Suzuka 1000 GT3 endurance race, which will be held at Suzuka Circuit, Japan, from Sept 11-13.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the partnership will see the Hong Kong-based Trends Hobby create a replica collectable model of the team's Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. JMR president and principal driver Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim expressed excitement about the collaboration and the opportunity to have the team's race car immortalised as a high-quality collectable model.
'As someone who has always loved cars and motorsport, there's something special about seeing the cars we race recreated as die-cast models. It's a real honour for the JMR Corvette Z06 GT3.R to be the first Corvette from Trends Hobby's upcoming 1:64 range,' he said in a statement. He added that the car and their programme with Corvette hold significant meaning, and he is eager to see the model and hopes for a successful partnership with Trends Hobby.
Meanwhile, Trends Hobby attributed JMR's continued success in 2025 and 2026 as the driving force behind their collaboration. The company expressed enthusiasm about transforming the all-new Corvette Z06 GT3.R into a collectible model, aiming to offer motorsport fans worldwide a closer look at racing and promote racing culture.
JMR, which secured podium finishes in both the Pro and Pro-Am categories on its debut at the 2025 Suzuka 1000, is aiming for the top spot this weekend. The team has already had a remarkable 2026 season, achieving class honours at the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium and successfully completing the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
