Kuala lumpur: The Department of Director General of Lands and Mines (JKPTG) held a Land Administration Consultation Clinic in conjunction with the 10th National Land Day at KL Sentral today to help the public better understand their land rights and related procedures. JKPTG director-general Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said the initiative demonstrated the department's commitment to engaging with the public and providing greater clarity on land management issues.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Mohd Fauzi explained that the clinic allows the public to obtain free advice directly from officers and experts on various land-related issues, helping them understand their rights and the relevant procedures. The programme was officiated by Mohd Fauzi and attended by JKPTG's deputy director-general (Operations Coordination) Mohd 'Ashraf Mohd Noor, deputy director-general (Management and Legal Development) Muhammad Rosli Muhammad Ja'afar, and other senior department officials.
The clinic, operating from 8 am to 5 pm, offers free consultations on matters including strata development, land legislation, small estate administration, land acquisition, federal land management, the e-Tanah system, and the MyLAND application. Strategic partners such as the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), the Association of Authorised Land Surveyors Malaysia (PEJUTA), GreenRE, and REHDA Institute also participated, providing advisory services on land and property matters.
Mohd Fauzi projected about 50,000 visitors to the clinic, leveraging KL Sentral's strategic location as a major public transport hub with an estimated daily user base of 200,000 to 250,000. This year's National Land Day celebration, themed 'Our Land, Our Responsibility', also included an article writing competition on land legislation and a Land Legislation Seminar featuring land administrators, academics, and experts discussing ways to enhance the country's land administration system.
The seminar concluded with several resolutions aimed at streamlining land administration processes and supporting national economic development. Mohd Fauzi emphasized that effective land management is crucial for safeguarding ownership rights and bolstering economic growth and community well-being. He warned that poor land management could lead to encroachment, ownership disputes, and community conflicts, urging the public to understand proper land management procedures to protect their rights.
