Kuala lumpur: The influenza situation in Negeri Sembilan is currently under control, as confirmed by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who assured that state health authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Although some cases have been reported in schools, Aminuddin emphasized that the situation is not critical and does not necessitate additional measures, such as the free distribution of vaccines.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin advised parents to ensure their children are in good health before attending school. He also mentioned that senior citizens, who are at higher risk, can receive the influenza vaccine for free at government health clinics. These remarks were made during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Negeri Sembilan Uniformed Bodies Sports Championship.
Aminuddin’s comments were in response to inquiries about whether the state would offer free Influenza A vaccinations to students, similar to an initiative currently underway in Selangor. During Epidemiological Week 41, spanning October 5 to 11, Negeri Sembilan recorded 299 influenza cases, a rise from the 154 cases reported the previous week.
Separately, Aminuddin addressed concerns about a monument in Bandar Tasik Senangin that had caused public concern. He emphasized that local authorities have taken appropriate action and reminded that any public structure should be sensitive to community values to prevent misunderstandings.
