Labuan:The Labuan Immigration Department has detained 10 Philippine nationals during operations known as Ops Mahir and Ops Kutip conducted at four locations.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, these operations took place from 9 am to 2.30 pm on Thursday at a shipyard, a construction site, and two settlements that house foreign nationals.
The department's director, Mohd Redzuan Nawi, reported that 54 individuals, including both foreign nationals and locals, were inspected. This led to the detention of 10 Philippine nationals, consisting of four men, two women, and four children.
The detainees are suspected of violating Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) and the Immigration Regulations 1963. Additionally, two summons notices were issued to employers suspected of hiring illegal immigrants.
