ICU JPM Overseeing RM27 Billion Worth of Projects in Kelantan

Kota bharu: A total of 500 development and infrastructure projects in Kelantan, comprising 118 new projects and 382 extension projects, are currently being monitored by the Prime Minister's Department's Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU JPM). ICU JPM director (Kelantan) Jasri Kasim highlighted the significant allocation involved, amounting to RM27.46 billion, which is being channelled through the Fifth Rolling Plan (RP5) under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the projects under scrutiny include the expansion of Jalan Pasir Hor in Kota Bharu, the development of Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP), as well as the upgrading of schools and health clinics. Jasri assured that all projects are being closely monitored to ensure timely completion, with appropriate actions planned to address potential delays. He shared these insights during the 'Kampung Angkat MADANI' programme at Kampung Guchil Bayam, Mukim Bayang.

Jasri further elaborated on the anticipated benefits of these projects, stating that their completion is expected to enhance the well-being of Kelantan residents by fostering economic growth, social development, and employment opportunities. He also mentioned that nearly 10,000 residents from four designated villages are set to benefit from the village adoption programme initiated by the Kelantan office of ICU JPM.

The villages involved in this initiative are Kampung Guchil Bayam and Kampung Sungai Keladi in Kota Bharu, along with Kampung Belimbing and Kampung Pangkal Manak in Tanah Merah. Various development initiatives and basic infrastructure repairs are being prioritised, including upgrades to cemetery fencing, drainage systems, and village roads, as well as providing house repair assistance for underprivileged residents registered under the eKasih system.

Additionally, Jasri noted that projects such as road maintenance and improvements to recreational parks are planned to enhance safety, ease of movement, and community spaces. He emphasized that the programme embodies the MADANI government's 'whole-of-government' approach, focusing on effective coordination among ministries, departments, and agencies to ensure a structured and focused response to the community's basic needs.
