Home Ministry’s RM22 Billion Allocation in Budget 2027 Highlights Commitment to Peace

Kuala Lumpur:The RM22 billion allocation for the Home Ministry (KDN) in Malaysia's Budget 2027 underscores the government's dedication to maintaining peace and public order, stated Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin emphasized that the budget delivers a clear message prioritizing the welfare of the people, national peace, and economic strength, as these elements support each other.

The allocation addresses welfare, security asset enhancement, border control improvement, and technological advancements to combat crime, ensuring national safety and sovereignty. Saifuddin noted that a peaceful nation fosters confidence among its citizens and creates a favorable environment for business, investment, and tourism.

When presenting Budget 2027, themed 'Malaysia MADANI Reaching For The Skies, While Anchored On Our Values,' Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced RM22 billion allocations for both the Home Ministry and the Defence Ministry. These funds will support asset procurement and maintenance for the Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, and other uniformed agencies under the Home Ministry.

Additionally, RM490 million was allocated to the Border Control and Protection Agency to enhance national border security.

Saifuddin stressed that national development should yield tangible benefits such as healthcare investments, public transport support, skills development, and job opportunities. He highlighted that the true measure of a budget's success lies in its ability to alleviate living costs and improve family well-being.

He concluded by stating that the economic growth and trade performance detailed in the budget lay a foundation for confidence in Malaysia's economic future, but emphasized the need for these achievements to translate into quality jobs, higher incomes, and manageable living costs. Ensuring efficient, transparent, and effective implementation of allocations is the next challenge, he added.
