Pasir Gudang Records Highest Unhealthy Air Pollutant Index in Malaysia

Pasir Gudang:Johor A total of 36 areas in Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 545 pm today, with Pasir Gudang in Johor experiencing the highest reading at 190.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, several other areas in Johor also registered unhealthy API levels, including Segamat at 187, Larkin at 185, Tangkak at 183, Batu Pahat at 177, Kluang at 176, and both Pengerang and Kota Tinggi at 175.

In Negeri Sembilan, the areas of Seremban, Nilai, and Port Dickson recorded API readings of 189, 183, and 174, respectively. Meanwhile, in Melaka, Bukit Rambai registered 187, Bandaraya Melaka 183, and Alor Gajah 181.

Selangor's Johan Setia saw an API reading of 181, with Shah Alam at 175, Petaling Jaya and Klang each at 167, Banting at 166, and Kuala Selangor at 156. The capital's Cheras and Batu Muda recorded readings of 177 and 172, while Putrajaya reported 170.

In Perak, Tasek Ipoh reached 182, Pegoh Ipoh 176, Tanjung Malim 174, Seri Manjung 158, and Taiping 110. Pahang's affected areas included Rompin at 162, Indera Mahkota in Kuantan at 158, and Temerloh at 156. In Kedah, Sungai Petani recorded 156, and Alor Setar 152.

Moreover, Penang's Minden, Seberang Jaya, and Seberang Perai reported unhealthy API readings of 154, 147, and 129, respectively.

Overall, 32 areas nationwide recorded moderate API readings, with no areas achieving good air quality. API readings between zero and 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and above 300 are considered hazardous.
