Perlis:The Inland Revenue Board (HASiL) in Perlis is enhancing its efforts to boost public tax literacy through a series of educational and advisory programs throughout October.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Affendi Ayub, the state HASiL director, stated that the HASiL Literacy Tour is a central component of the Bulan HASiL 2026 program, designed to engage the local community, entrepreneurs, and industry players.

The Bulan HASiL 2026 Literacy Tour Carnival is scheduled for October 9 and 10 at a local shopping mall. It will feature various activities including tax exploration, advisory services, social experiments, a blood donation drive, and Rahmah MADANI Sales.

The initiative also emphasizes the Voluntary Disclosure Programme, which now includes the Income Tax Voluntary Disclosure Programme, the e-Invoice Special Voluntary Programme, and the Stamp Duty Special Voluntary Disclosure Programme. Mohd Affendi noted that the board has received inquiries from taxpayers about these programs and hopes for increased participation.

Additionally, taxpayers in Perlis are encouraged to report tax evasion through the official MyTax platform using the e-Pelarian Cukai feature. The implementation of e-Invoicing is anticipated to enhance tax compliance and decrease revenue leakage by enabling a more efficient tracking system for transactions.
