Kuala Lampur:Guardsquare, a mobile application security provider, has inaugurated its first physical office in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, located in Singapore. This move aims to strengthen its foothold in a market increasingly seeking mobile application and API security solutions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the new office at Suntec Tower 2 will function as Guardsquare’s regional operational and technical hub. It will host specialized teams for sales, technical support, and solutions engineering.
The Belgium-based company has noted this expansion builds on their existing customer base of over 200 organizations in Asia, alongside a 50 percent year-on-year revenue growth in the region. The office was officially opened on October 1, with attendance from regional partners, customers, government representatives, and business leaders, including Guardsquare's CEO Roel Caers, alongside representatives from the Singapore Economic Development Board and Flanders Investment and Trade.
Roel Caers highlighted APAC's leading role in the global mobile economy, emphasizing the growing reliance on sophisticated applications by consumers. He stated that Guardsquare’s presence in Singapore ensures regional developers have access to comprehensive security solutions, enabling them to build and protect their mobile apps confidently.
The expansion aligns with projections that Southeast Asia's digital economy will exceed US$300 billion, with over 60 percent of payments being digital, as referenced by data from Google, Temasek, and Bain and Company.
Guardsquare mentioned that its Singapore team will focus on assisting organizations, particularly in the banking, fintech, and retail sectors, to safeguard applications against tampering, reverse engineering, and fraud, while also meeting evolving regulatory requirements. The establishment of the Singapore office increases Guardsquare's global office network to seven, with recruitment ongoing for sales, marketing, and engineering roles in the city-state.
