Kuala lumpur: The government is maintaining vigilant oversight over the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) team, currently positioned at yellow line two, approximately 340 nautical miles from the Gaza coast, amid potential interception threats by the Zionist regime, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to keeping an open line of communication with the governments of Jordan and Saudi Arabia to stay informed about the participants' status and to be ready in case any incidents occur. Anwar highlighted the challenges involved, noting, "We are constantly monitoring the situation, meaning we have already exerted pressure, but we are dealing with Israel."
The GSF mission is a multi-national effort involving close to 500 participants from 45 countries, including 29 Malaysians. Participants hail from various nations such as Spain, Turkiye, and Brazil. Anwar stressed the preparedness for possible interception, stating, "We are prepared should such an interception occur."
The Prime Minister's remarks came in response to a statement from the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) confirming the precarious situation of 54 GSF vessels currently at the yellow line two. The vessels face a substantial risk of interception by the Zionist regime, echoing past incidents of a similar nature. Anwar expressed hope that interception would not occur but assured readiness if it does, saying, "We pray that it will not happen, but if it does, we are on standby."
