Johor bahru: The government is committed to ensuring an adequate supply of raw materials for medical devices, as announced by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad. He emphasized the importance of securing these materials to avoid any supply disruptions. According to BERNAMA News Agency, discussions regarding the strategic agreement with China to procure resin and naphtha are ongoing, focusing on price negotiations based on a willing buyer, willing seller concept. Dr Dzulkefly assured that these negotiations would not impact the supply chain, emphasizing that there are no current issues affecting the availability of medical devices. During the Pulai parliamentary Raya celebrations at Dewanraya Taman Bukit Indah, Dr Dzulkefly addressed inquiries about the savings accrued from the finalized agreement between the Medical Device Authority and China. This agreement aims to enhance the procurement of resin and naphtha, essential raw materials for medical devices. The Health Ministry had previously issued a statement confirming that the medical device supply in the country remains stable and well-regulated, attributing this stability to rigorous monitoring and ongoing mitigation strategies.
