Government Committed to Supporting Teachers and National Education Agenda: Fadillah

Kuala lumpur: The government remains committed to elevating the teaching profession and ensuring educators receive the necessary support in carrying out their responsibility to educate the MADANI generation, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. In a Facebook post marking Teachers' Day 2026 today, he highlighted the evolving role of teachers, emphasizing that their responsibilities extend far beyond traditional classroom education.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 2026 Teachers' Day celebration is themed 'Guru Bitara, Nadi Negara', underscoring the importance of teachers as exemplary figures who shape the nation's future and drive national progress. Fadillah noted that teachers play a crucial role in developing a generation that is knowledgeable, of noble character, and competitive on a global scale.

Fadillah referenced former South African President Nelson Mandela, stating that "education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world." He affirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the national education agenda, aiming to nurture Malaysian children who excel academically and embody strong character, patriotism, and competitiveness to contribute to a prosperous Malaysia.

He concluded by expressing his deepest appreciation and gratitude to all teachers in Malaysia for their dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment to the nation's children and future.
